Pinaiimbestigahan ni Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon sa Kamara ang pagdami ng “clone” accounts sa Facebook kamakailan.
Inihain ni Biazon ang House Resolution No. 968 para ipasilip sa komite sa Kamara ang umano’y “breach” sa social media giant na maaring naglagay sa alanganin sa kaligtasan at private data ng mga users nito.
“Yesterday, I filed proposed House Resolution No. 968 calling for an inquiry in aid of legislation into the proliferation of Facebook clone accounts which may subject persons to fraud, identity theft, breach of privacy, harassment and other unlawful activities,” ani Biazon sa isang Twitter post.
Mababatid na sa nakalipas na mga araw ay lumutang ang maraming peke at dummy Facebook accounts sa ilalim ng pangalan ng mga totoong indibidwal, na karamihan ay pawang mga estudyante.
Sa kanyang resolusyon, sinabi ni Biazon na maaring mabiktima ng exploitation, online bullying, harrastment at iba pa ang mga indibidwal na ginawan ng pekeng Facebook accounts.
Binigyan diin ni Biazon ang kahalagahan nang pagtatag ng isang joint task force na binubuo ng Department of Information and Communications Technology, National Bureau of Investigation, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Cybercrime Group, the National Privacy Commission, at iba pang government at non-government agencies na siyang sisilip sa insidenteng ito.
[This] may be in order so that a thorough investigation on the matter may be conducted and remedial measures be put into place to prevent such similar situations from occurring in the future,” dagdag pa nito.
Sa ngayon, iniimbestigahan na ng PNP at DOJ ang naturang issue.
