
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CDRRMO) reported on Friday that more than 100 kids were sent to a hospital on Thursday following a surprise fire drill in a school in Cabuyao City, Laguna.
“Ang lahat-lahat 104…Dinala po lahat sa hospital (In total, 104 students. They were brought to [the] hospital),” CDRRMO head said.
According to preliminary findings, Abinal said that the students’ collapse was caused by hunger and dehydration.
In accordance with Department of Education Order No. 53 s, the fire drill was conducted at Gulod National High School-Mamatid Extension. According to Abinal, 2022 will mark the start of the required unannounced earthquake and fire drills in schools.
However, Abinal said that the institution failed to arrange the event with the city administration, CDRRMO, and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
