Department of Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla has confirmed that there are initial plans for conducting explorations in the islands that are part of the Philippine territory in the West Phil Sea.
According to Lotilla, this is after President BBM mentioned in his past State of the Nation Address (SONA) the reopening of research or petroleum exploration in Philippine territories.
The Enerdy Department is taking the said step in the midst of China’s interference in the West Phil Sea.
At the same time, Energy Sec Lotilla promised that he will submit to the lower house of Congress the list of service contracts, including the overall plan for such exploration.
The Secretary mentioned that the entire DOE will focus on improvements in the said exploration, because it will certainly help the country, if successful.
