The commission on election is now appealing for cooperation between Makati and Taguig in turning over of voters from 10 EMBO Barangays.
To recall, there was tension during the opening of Brigada Eskwela after Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano and volunteers visited some EMBO schools.
The Makati LGU allegedly blocked the road to the schools.
Such tension occurred despite a clear memorandum order issued by the Department of Education (DepEd) requiring school principals to transfer the management and personnel of 14 EMBO schools in Taguig.
The commission on election on the other hand, ensured that there will be no tension in their turnover and in the election itself because they have laid out procedural steps to be followed by the various departments.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia says the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy will be done at the Taguig Convention Hall from August 28 to September 2 while voters from the 10 Embo Barangays do not need to register again for the Barangay and Sanggunian Youth Election (BSKE).
Garcia said the commission will ask Makati to use schools as polling stations.
If Makati does not agree, Garcia said they will definitely take legal action.
Taguig thanked the commission for its correct action on the order of the Supreme Court.
