Hinatulan ng unlawful possession of a firearm and explosive ng Department of Justice ang tatlong indibidwal na nauugnay sa pagkasawi ni dating Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
Sa inilabas na listahan ng pangalan ng Regional Trial Court, Manila Branch 40, hinatulan sina Joric Labrador, Joven Calibjo Javier, at Benjie Rodriguez sa magkakahiwalay na kaso na may kauganayan sa illegal possession of firearms and explosive, ayon sa pahayag ng Department of Justice.
Napag-alaman ng awtoridad na nakakita sila ng .45 caliber pistol, two magazines, 14 rounds of live ammunition, at dalawang granada mula sa mga akusado.
“The unlawful possession of explosives under Section 3 of Presidential Decree (PD) No. 1866, as amended by RA No. 9516, in connection with the 04 March 2023 shooting at the residence of former Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.”
Matatandaang nasawi sa pamamaril si dating Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo taong 2023.
Habang si Labrador naman ay sinentensyahan ng 8 hanggang 10 taong pagkakakakulong dahil sa unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition sa ilalim ng Section 28 Republic Act 10591, and Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. Ang dalawang iba pang akusado ay sinentensyahan naman ng reclusion perpetua o habang buhay na pagkakakulong dahil na rin sa parehong kaso.
