Walang problema para kay Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor ang pagpahayag ng suporta ng kanyang anak sa ABS-CBN.
Ito ay kahit pa salungat ito aniya sa kanyang posisyon na huwag aprubahan ang franchise application ng Lopez-led broadcast company.
Sa isang Twitter post, sinabi ng anak ni Defensor na si Mikee na magkasalungat ang posisyon nila ng kanyang ama.
“I think that to assume that we share the same opinion is unfair. I’ve had my own share of arguments and debates in my own home in order to prevent all this from happening,” ani Mikee sa isang Twitter post.
Sa isang panayam, sinabi naman ni Defensor na dumaan sa kanya at pinayagan niya ang online post na ito ng kanyang anak.
Pero pagkatapos nito ay sinabihan daw niya si Mikee na mag-ingat sa pag-post dahil ginagamit ito ng mapagsamantala para iparating o ipakita na may hidwaan silang mag-ama.
“In fact, before she posted that, she asked me if she could post such a message and I said, ‘Yes, no problem.’ It’s just now that I’ve been telling her na, ‘Mikee, you have to be careful because some people are using it as a narrative as if you are fighting me or they are creating a problem between father and daughter and I think we both understand that,’” ani ni Defensor.
Iginiit ni Defensor na wala siyang problema sa pagtutol at debate hinggil sa prangkisa ng ABS-CBN pero ayaw niyang magamit ang kanyang pamilya sa issue na ito.
“As far as I am concerned even among friends, friends from UP, my daughter and my family, I allow dissent, I allow debate, I encourage them to be involved and to understand the issues and I told her as a father, I think we should nurture our children for love of country and love of God,” dagdag pa nito.
Umapela naman ang mambabatas sa publiko na intindihin ang desisyon ng House committee on legislative franchises.
