Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time and most of us will agree and to this day his impact in the sport keeps on spreading.

In an auction, MJ’s worn basketball jersey in Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz was sold for a massive $10.091 million, a new auction record at Sotheby’s.

“The season itself is his ‘magnum opus’ as an athlete, and a testament to him as a champion and competitor.

Finals jerseys from Jordan are remarkably scant and the [1998] Finals are arguably the most coveted of them all,” Sotheby’s head of streetwear and modern collectables Brahm Wachter said in a statement.
