The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is currently monitoring the affected Filipinos in Turkey after the said country was hit by a magnitude 7.8 earthquake.
Based on the data of DFA, 284 Filipinos are currently based in Turkey.
Department of Foreign affairs Spokesperson Teresita Daza also confirmed that there were 60 Filipinos who are based in Syria.
As of now, the death toll reached more than 7,800.
Further, it can be remembered that on February 6, 2023, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit Turkey, as this country is one of the most active earthquake zones in the world.
