Ikinalulungkot ng Malacañang ang desisyon ni Senate Pres. Juan Ponce-Enrile na harangan ang pagtestigo ng opisyal ng Philippine Airlines (PAL).

Batay sa ruling ng presiding officer, hindi kasama sa Article II ng Articles of Impeachment ang testimonya ni Enrique Javier, vice president for sales ng PAL.

Sinabi ngayon ni Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda, nakakadismaya dahil gusto umano ng publiko na marinig sana ang testimonya ng PAL official na maaaring magdiin kay Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Pero ayon kay Lacierda, tuloy ang kanilang laban at matibay pa rin ang tiwalang mako-convict si Corona base sa naiharap na ebidensya.

Sa kabila nito, iginagalang umano ni Pangulong Aquino ang kapasyahan ng Senate president.

“It’s unfortunate that the Senate President has decided to disallow the reception for evidence with respect to Article III. But, as they say, the fight goes on and so far we believe that the evidence as culled from Article II with respect to the bank accounts, with respect to the properties of the Chief Justice would be a strong basis for the senators to rule on the impeachment,” ani Lacierda.
