Star FM Davao

Beginnings: Jhony started his radio career as Col.
Denver of 93.7 Star FM Cotabato on October 2000.
Although this big guy is from the seminary, he is
endowed with natural gift of wit and humor which easily
gained him the admiration of Cotabato City's listening
pubic as he sit on the Pinoy Morning Na and IAFY in
the Evening programs. Not long after his acquisition,
Jhony was tasked to man the station's primetime
program, the Morning Star Sweep.

Radio History: Jhony's wit and humor, and his strong
personality in the Morning Star Sweep program, was
recognized by his Area Manager who facilitated his
transfer to 100.7 Star FM General Santos as the
station's main man: Jhony Willy. Not long after that,
91.1 Star FM Marbel was found to be needing an able
Station Manager who could head its operations. This
paved the way for Jhony's another transfer, but this time
as Station Manager of 91.1 Star FM Marbel, his third
station with Star FM. It is with Star FM Marbel that he
was able to establish his current air name: "BOY
NEGRO".

Yet, his stay with Star FM Marbel was short lived as his
previous station, Star FM General Santos, really needs
his presence. Jhony therefore returned to Star FM
General Santos as the new Station Manager. In May
2004, Jhony's dedication and loyalty to Network was
once again tested when he was advised to proceed to
96.3 Star FM Davao and perform the responsibilities of
an Assistant Station Manager, which he gladly obliged.
Four months after his transfer, he was designated as its
Station Manager.

Two years after, there was a re-shuffling of station
officers' assignment due to its Area Manager's
resignation. Jhony readily accepted his new
assignment: 93.9 Star FM Zamboanga. His stay with
Star FM Zamboanga lasted for just a year because he is
once again transferred to Star FM Davao as the station's
Assistant Manager up to the present.

Claim to Fame: BOY NEGRO's radio career is
basically the product of his great wit and humor which
continuously tickles the listeners of Davao City. His
strong radio personality and his 'Ilonggo' adlibs always
paste a smile on his avid listeners' lips.

His programs today include: Listen to BOY NEGRO,
from Monday to Saturday, on his Morning Star Sweep (6
to 9 am) program. He also sits on the IAFY in the
Afternoon with Kasinatian sa Yesterdays (1 to 3 pm)
program, together with Bobby Barako, from Monday to
Saturday.
