Star FM Dagupan

Beginnings: "Too much of a wonderful thing is heaven"-
this is a guiding principle that taught this guy to give out
everything possible in every endeavor he is in. This
proved to be true because "Cheru" as he is called by
most of his friends and loveones is a goal seeker/goal
achiever. He is so much fascinated in extraordinary
things like human behaviors and helping out people who
are in distress.

Cherubim D. Ganaden is his name. He is raised in
Baguio City. He took up B.S. Psychology in Saint Louis
University as a sholar. During his stay in college, he
was featured several times in their school newspaper for
being a hardworking student (talaga lang ha!). He was a
role model for persons with disability and most of the
time, invited to be a panelist or speaker in their school
to talk about the pains and joys of having a disability.
Having a disability he said, is not a hindrance in fulfilling
your dreams. In fact his physical conditions pushed him
to work hard in succeeding and helping other people. He
stands by the meaning of his name Cheru or Cherubim
which means as an "angel. He is a person with a big
smile and a big heart. He is overflowing with enthusiasm
and he is so altruistic. This are the main reasons why
he is so effective with people and he's got so many
friends.

Radio History: Cheru is a music lover and he loves to
listen to every music station, but it never came to his
dreams to be working in one and be a radio announcer.
On December 2003, he called up his long time friend
Domingo Calputura who was then working in Star FM
Dagupan as a disc jockey with an air name of DJ
Andrew Lapulapu. They agreed to meet up and patch up
the loss times. From Baguio, he went down to Dagupan
and visited DJ Andrew Lapulapu. While at the station,
Andrew made Cheru to record his voice by reading out
some articles from newspaper clips in the Production
Room. Cheru thought andrew was just playing things
with him and he never thought that he was already being
auditioned. He was so amazed when after two day
andrew called him up and said he needs to come over
the station asap to be on training. Good thing Cheru got
the talent specifically with a good voice (owwws
hahaha!!!) so he was able to get accepted. Incidentally,
that time Star FM Dagupan was in need of a disc jockey
and luckily Cheru was able to get in. He was given a
name DJ Blue Marlin.

Claim to fame: Dj Blue Marlin became known for his
being wacky and bubbly on air. With this, he was
assigned to handle Starmusikainan and Afternoon
Starsweep Programs, a certified hyped or lively
programs. This move was a sure hit because
listenership on the said programs increased with the
proof that text hits also skyrocketed (hehehehe sobrang
yabang!!!!). Blue Marlin has been a disc jockey for
almost four (4) years and he is so effective with
listeners. It is so fascinating that some of Star Fm
Dagupan listeners associate their names or code
names from him (e,g. Bluedemon, Mr. Blue, Blue angel,
Blue eyes etc.).

His programs today include: As mentioned earlier, Dj
Blue marlin handles Starmusikainan and afternoon
Starsweep Programs during weekdays. As most Star
Fm Discjockeys, Blue Marlin has a very versatile voice
and he can handle almost every radio programs. With
regard to this, he was also assigned to handle Rock
Programs like Twilight Zone and Vault of Rock. Every
Sundays, he also gets to handle Sunday Disco
Flashback and Superstar Sunday Programs.
